Privacy: what this site does with your data
No cookies. This site uses no cookies, no third-party audience measurement tool, no advertising and no external script. It therefore displays no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Visit statistics. At each visit or listening session, your IP address is converted into a country, on the server itself, using the DB-IP database. Only the country is counted, per day and per recording listened to. The IP address is neither stored nor passed on to a third party; it stays in memory for a few minutes, the time needed to display the number of current listeners.
Contact form. Your message, your e-mail address if you provide it and your country are stored on the server and sent to the author by e-mail (Google's Gmail service). They are used solely to reply to you and are deleted at your request.
Preferences. The browser stores locally (localStorage) your choice whether or not to announce the birds detected. This information does not leave your device.
Technical logs. The audio streaming server and the firewall keep connection logs containing IP addresses, solely for security and troubleshooting purposes. They are deleted automatically after eight weeks at most.
Legal basis. These processing operations rest on the publisher's legitimate interest (GDPR, art. 6.1.f) for statistics and security, and on your request for the contact form. No data is sold or transferred. No data is transferred outside the European Union, with the exception of the routing by Google of the contact form messages.
Your rights. You have a right of access, rectification, erasure and objection regarding the data concerning you (GDPR, art. 15 to 21). To exercise it, write via the contact form on the home page. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
